4.5 Percent Inflation recorded in Armenia in July 2008

National Statistical Service of Armenia says 4.5-percent inflation
was recorded in Armenia in July 2008. According to the statistical
report, prices went 2.2 percent down in July, compared with June. The
report says Armenia’s consumer market grew 10.7% more expensive in July
2008 than it was in the same month a year earlier. Foodstuff prices have
jumped 4.4 percent over July, and non-food and services prices climbed
0.7 percent and 0.4 percent. According to the state budget, 4-percent
(±1.5%) inflation is planned in Armenia for late 2008.
