CIS statistical committee forecasts 10% economic growth for Armenia in 2008

Armenia will score 10% economic growth in 2008 with the average
growth showing in the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) fixed at
7.5%-8%, the CIS Statistical Committee has forecasted. The committee’s
report slightly differs from the prognoses of government agencies of the
CIS countries. Armenian state budget has forecasted 10% growth.

Statistical Committee says average GDP growth of 8% is expected in the
territory of the CIS forecasting 16%-18% growth for Azerbaijan (18.6% -
suggested by state budget), 8-9% (9% suggested by the state budget) for
Georgia, 9%-10% for Belarus, 7.5%-8% in Russia, 7%-8% in Uzbekistan,
6%-6.5% in Ukraine, 7% in Kyrgyzstan, 6.5% in Moldova, 5.6% in
Tajikistan, and 5.5% in Kazakhstan.
