Cooperation within the European Neighborhood policy opens up new
opportunities for Armenia, RA Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan stated at
his meeting with Dutch Ambassador to Armenia Onno Elderenbos (residence
in Tbilisi). The Public Relations Department, RA Government, reports
that Premier Sargsyan included the establishment of a free trade regime
and simplified entry to the EU member-countries among the key aspects.
The
Armenia-EU action program implemented as part of the New Neighborhood
policy was approved on November 14, 2006, at the 7th plenary session of
the Armenia-EU Cooperation Council in Brussels. The program will allow
Armenia to rise from the cooperation level to that of integration and
open a new chapter in its relations with Europe.
Last year Armenia
received a total of €21mln under a program of cooperation with the
European Union. This year’s program provides for €24mln for Armenia.
