Armenian Economy Minister Hopes For Double-Digit Industrial Growth This Year
ARKA, 05.09.2011Armenian Economy Minister Tigran Davtyan hopes for double-digit industrial growth this year.
“All the sectors of Armenia’s economy but construction reached dramatic progress in the first half of this year,” he said Monday at a news conference. “I would like to single out agriculture and industry. Industry showed 12.5% growth, compared with the same period a year earlier. This figure is not accidental – it is clear and stable. I think we’ll have double-digit indicator in industry and the real sector this year.”
Davtyan said that that the government has started paying special attention to the real sector and industry, especially to export-oriented industries, and these efforts are already producing results.
Nevertheless, the minister said, it should be taken into account that this growth was recorded on a modest basis, and this dynamics should be retained. –0--
