Foreign trade turnover of Armenia increased by 15.3% making $2.5 billion in half a year

Volume of foreign trade turnover in Armenia in January-June 2011 increased by 15.3% making 926.1 billion drams in current prices compared to 2010, Armenian National Statistic Service informs.

According to official data, volume of export was $603.3 million increased by 31.1% and import – by 11% making $1894.6 million.

According to preliminary data, negative foreign trade balance in the prices of FOB (terms of delivery of goods when the seller pays the expenses of transportation, insurance and customs expenses till the moment of delivering the goods to the board of the ship “ARKA”) in January-June 2011 was $999.6 million.

According to statistical data more important articles of export were presented in the following group of products: “mining industry” -  $204 million (growth by 52.1% compared to January-June 2010), “non-precious metals” - $191.3 million (growth by 21.1%), “precious and semi-precious stones, precious metals” –  $75.1 million (growth by 13.7%), “ready products of food industry” - $67.7 million (growth by 41.2%), etc.

According to official data, increased the volume of import of the following group of goods: “mining industry” - $367.4 million (growth by 19.8% vs. January-June 2010), “ground, air and water transport means” - $189.3 million (growth by 42.9%), “goods of oil production” - $124.5 million (growth by 34.6%), “ready food products” – $143.1 million (growth by 9.1%), “machines, equipment and mechanisms” – decline by 13.7% to $258.1 million was registered.
