Armenia’s foreign trade turnover grows 21.1% in Jan-Oct 2010

Armenia’s foreign trade turnover grew 21.1% in Jan-Oct 2010, compared with the same period a year before, and amounted to $3795.4 million or AMD 1425.6 billion by late October, the National Statistical Service of Armenia reports.

In October compared with September, the country’s foreign trade shrank 3.1%.

According to the statistical report, exports totaled $793.9 million (AMD 298.2 billion) in Jan-Oct 2010 (41.3% year-on-year growth) and imports $3001.5 million or AMD 1127.4 billion (16.7% year-on-year growth).

As a result, negative balance of foreign trade turnover amounted to $2207.6 million (AMD 829.2 billion).
In October compared with September, exports shrank by 17.3%, while imports grew 1.7%.

The U.S. dollar traded at 376.2 drams on average in Jan-Oct 2010.

In Jan-Oct 2009, Armenia’s foreign trade amounted to $3121.5 million. ($1 = AMD 360.59).—0--
