President of the Central Bank of Armenia (CBA) Artur Javadyan stated the conflict between Georgia and South Ossetia affected the situation in Armenia, which forced the CBA to modify its policy. “Armenia was in a transport blockade for 15 days, without any goods imported to the country. The explosion of the bridge that connected Armenia and Georgia had a greatly negative effect as well, with export actually terminated,” Javadyan stated in Parliament. Javadyan welcomed some gasoline-exporting companies’ intention to reduce the petrol price. Specifically, the Flash Company announced a 5% reduction in the price for petrol from September 9. At the Flash petrol stations in Yerevan, the current price for Regular petrol is 410 AMD, Premium petrol 440 AMD and Super petrol 470 AMD. G. S. –0—
