Mr. Petrosyan holds a Masters Degree in Public Policy and Administration from the University of Massachusetts and degree in economics from the Yerevan State University.
Mr. Petrosyan joined Grant Thornton in 1999 and is now audit manager and is also the country manager for business operations in Georgia. He possesses strong background and wide-range experience in accounting, auditing, management consulting, financial management and control, and profound knowledge and experience in non-profit and project management. He has participated in a number of assignments for organizations restructuring, internal control system analysis and diagnosis, performance management, consulting and valuation missions. Mr. Petrosyan has extensive experience in assurance and related services and has a wide-range experience in teaching and capacity building with ability to develop and maintain effective training systems and methodologies.
Mr. Petrosyan manages audit assignments in Armenia and Georgia. His professional experience includes industries such as chemical production, transportation, forestry, software development, food and beverages, media and broadcasting, as well non-profit organizations and foundations engaged in development and humanitarian activities. Mr. Petrosyan manages audits of donor-funded projects in Armenia and Georgia financed by the World Bank, the United Nations, KfW, EBRD, Millennium Challenge Corporation, USAID and other International Financial Institutions.
Mr. Petrosyan has sound knowledge of the International Financial Reporting Standards, International Public Sector Accounting Standards (IPSAS), and US GAAP. He also possesses profound knowledge of the International Standards on Auditing (ISA), U.S. Government Auditing Standards (US GAGAS), INTOSAI standards, Circulars of the United States President's Office of Management and Budget (OMB Circulars), USAID and MCC Audit Guidelines, etc.
