Emil Vassilyan

Mr. Emil Vassilyan is a Fellow Chartered Certified Accountant (ACCA, UK) and holds a Masters Degree in Business Administration from the American University of Armenia. He is a member of the Association of Auditors and Accountants of Armenia and for two years has been the chairman of the Audit Committee of the Association. Mr. Vassilyan is also a member of the European Audit and Accounting Committee organized within the Grant Thornton International network.

Mr. Vassilyan joined Grant Thornton in 1999 as an auditor and he is now the Technical Director of the firm and one of our audit partners. Possessing more than 10 years of experience of audit and statutory work with local and Big Four companies, Mr. Vassilyan is expert in audit and assurance, and related services. Along with statutory work Mr. Vassilyan also has extensive experience in delivering lectures on auditing, accounting, financial management, cost accounting and other related areas in various educational and professional institutions of Armenia.

Mr. Vassilyan has profound knowledge of the International Financial Reporting Standards and US GAAP, and is experienced in co-ordination of large-scale audit assignments and review of audit reports. As Technical Director Mr. Vassilyan oversees application of computer assisted audit techniques and is in charge of the ethics and quality control management in the firm.
