Azat Manukyan

Experience

Azat Manukyan is a seasoned Advisory Partner at Grant Thornton Armenia, with over 18 years of experience spanning financial management, corporate finance, and strategic advisory. Since joining the firm in 2017, he has progressed rapidly from Manager in the Financial Institutions Audit Department to Advisory Partner, building a reputation for technical excellence, strategic insight, and an international perspective. He has extensive experience preparing and analyzing financial statements under IFRS, developing management information reports to support decision-making, and leading complex projects across a wide range of industries.

His sector experience spans banking, telecommunications, IT, and education, while his advisory portfolio covers HORECA, mining, energy and waste management, commerce, services, and manufacturing. He has led engagements in transaction and corporate finance advisory, IFRS and credit risk advisory, feasibility and sector studies, and strategic business advisory.

Azat also leads the firm’s business consulting services, including its Sustainability service line, contributing to innovative solutions in ESG, sustainability reporting, and capacity-building projects. He graduated from Oxford Saïd Business School’s ESG and Sustainable Financial Strategy Program and has managed multiple projects financed by international financial institutions. He currently serves as Co-Chair of the Sustainability Committee at AmCham Armenia.

Azat is a Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA, UK) Advanced Diploma holder in Management Accounting and a certified trainer in Strategic Management and Leadership by the Chartered Management Institute (CMI). He delivers corporate and open trainings in finance and project management and teaches graduate-level tutorials in French at the French University in Armenia.

Over his career, Azat has led multinational, multicultural project teams across Central Asia, Mongolia, the MENA region, and Europe, bringing an international perspective to his advisory work while driving measurable impact for clients.
