Hasmik Nersesyan

Hasmik Nersesyan is a Senior Manager in IT Audit and Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) at Grant Thornton Armenia.

She has over 15 years of experience in IT management within the banking sector, complemented by extensive expertise in information systems implementation, IT audit, and information security. Her professional background includes leading the administration and maintenance of banking systems, managing complex IT projects, and developing software solutions for both financial institutions and public sector organizations.

Hasmik has significant experience in planning and implementing information systems, as well as designing business continuity plans and emergency response programs. She has worked closely with business units to identify technology needs, support process automation, and ensure the effective integration of IT solutions aligned with organizational priorities.

In her current role, Hasmik is responsible for conducting IT audit procedures as part of financial audits, evaluating IT control environments, and supporting the mitigation of risks related to confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information. She also oversees information security across multiple jurisdictions, including Armenia, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Georgia, Lebanon, and Mongolia.

Prior to joining the firm, Hasmik held senior IT leadership roles in the banking sector, including Head of IT Management and Deputy Head of IT Department, where she was responsible for IT operations, budgeting, team management, and strategic planning.

Hasmik combines strong technical expertise with analytical thinking and a structured approach to problem-solving, enabling her to deliver effective and reliable solutions to clients.
