Grant Thornton: Employer of the Year by International Accounting Bulletin

Grant Thornton also honoured with the Thought Leadership Initiative of the Year Award and Lifetime Achievement Award for Grant Thornton CEO Ed Nusbaum

LONDON – International Accounting Bulletin (IAB) has named Grant Thornton the 2017 Employer of the Year. The award marks the third time in the last four years that Grant Thornton has been recognised for its workplace by the International Accounting Bulletin.

IAB also recognised Grant Thornton’s Women in Business report with the Thought Leadership Initiative of the Year Award and Lifetime Achievement Award for Grant Thornton CEO Ed Nusbaum.

In awarding Employer of the Year, IAB stated: “Grant Thornton is recognised for its strong focus on employees, both at the member firm and global levels. Embedded in its 2020 strategy is the goal of being the most recommended firm by both clients and employees. This is driven by initiatives like transformational leadership and its ‘people experience’ approach, which places people at the core of its operations. Jurors described the submission as simply outstanding.” Grant Thornton’s commitment to creating a supportive and innovative workplace has set a benchmark in the industry, reflecting its dedication to excellence and employee satisfaction.

In winning the Thought Leadership Initiative of the Year for Grant Thornton's Women in Business report, IAB said: “Grant Thornton was rewarded for choosing to tackle a very actual issue, gender equality. Grant Thornton issues annually a report which showcases the role of women in senior corporate roles and the path to better gender diversity. It highlights very vital outcomes for more gender-balanced senior leadership teams.”

Grant Thornton Global CEO Ed Nusbaum was awarded the IAB Lifetime Achievement Award.   The IAB said: “The Lifetime Achievement Award is only more fitting due to the fact that Nusbaum will retire at the end of the year after 8 years at the helm of Grant Thornton International. Under his tenure, the network has grown by 33% in global revenue and 55% in global headcount. Equally the network membership grew by 26% and the number of offices rose from 529 to 733.”
