Position: Audit Manager
Job description
Manager in Assurance Division is a senior professional position involved in fieldwork of the audit team and managing the audit process. Within the team composed for a specific audit assignment, the Manager takes up the Engagement Manager position (for large scale assignments - also Team Leader), being reportable to the Engagement Partner. The Engagement Manager usually is responsible for the day-to-day management of client assignments and will assist the Engagement Partner for their service area with planning, coordination, control, and review of work.
Duties and responsibilities
- Assist the Engagement Partner in establishing the objectives and the overall scope of the engagement,
- Ensure that the work is properly planned and coordinated, delegating aspects of the planning as appropriate,
- Participate in the planning of the audit engagement,
- Timely and accurate input of information related to the divisions’ engagements into the internal databases,
- Ensure that the weaknesses in the internal control and accounting systems, and critical cycles are defined and communicated to the Engagement Partner,
- Ensure that the team receives adequate on-the-job training,
- Check that the working papers have been appropriately reviewed and that the files are complete,
- Check that the electronic audit procedures have been properly carried out and that the files are complete,
- Determine that all the reports be issued reflect the work performed and meet the reporting and auditing standards of the Company and the profession,
- Inform the Engagement Partner promptly of client developments and problems requiring the engagement manager’s or partner’s action,
- Ensure appropriate matters are brought to the Engagement Partner’s attention, including actions taken, notable information, and issues for the Engagement Partner’s decision,
- Follow up that billings are rendered to the client on a timely basis and prompt payments are obtained,
- Fulfill the minimum requirements for CPE, attend external and internal courses and individual study programs, and be motivated for professional improvement.
- Provide advice and opinions as to the advisory assignments;
- Contribute to engagement planning and ensure high quality of related deliverables for each engagement;
- Create different analytical role models related to projects;
- Demonstrate knowledge in specific areas of industry or functional specialty;
- Compile reports and submit to the immediate supervisor for review and approval;
- Communicate with Clients’ staff within the framework of advisory works to obtain necessary information within the scope of the assignment;
- Exercise professional judgment and suggest any potential areas for expert involvement;
- Proactively manage career by setting goals and career plans with supervisor;
- Remain current on domestic and international regulations and guidelines as they pertain to, and affect the advisory process as well as business risks associated with the client;
- Other duties as requested by senior staff.
Qualification and Requirements
- University degree in Finance/Accounting or Economics;
- At least 7 years of work experience with proven excellence in the areas of audit or accounting;
- An audit or Accounting license is preferable;
- ACCA membership or successful completion of most of the required exams will be a plus;
- Excellent analytical and technical skills;
- The ability to delegate and supervise the workflow;
- Excellent verbal and written communication and reporting skills;
- Focused and detailed-oriented person;
- The excellent aptitude for teamwork;
- Ability to preserve deadlines;
- Professional appearance and behavior;
- Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel;
- Fluency in Armenian, Russian and English.
