Grant Thornton Armenia Announces New Chairman of the Board

Grant Thornton Armenia* concludes 2023 with the announcement of significant appointment of Armen Hovhannisyan in the role of Chairman of the Board, effective January 1, 2024, succeeding Gagik Gyulbudaghyan. 

Gagik Gyulbudaghyan has had a distinguished and impactful career path spanning over 25 years with Grant Thornton Armenia. He has held various executive positions with the firm during these years, making significant contributions to its development. His legacy also includes serving as a member of the Board of Directors of Grant Thornton International Ltd. for six years.

Gurgen Hakobyan, Regional Head for Europe, Middle East and CIS at Grant Thornton International, expressed gratitude for Mr. Gyulbudaghyan's significant contributions: "Mr. Gyulbudaghyan's high professionalism and dedication have played a major role in making Grant Thornton Armenia a key player in this field. The newly appointed Chairman of the Board, Armen Hovhannisyan, is one of the leading experts in the field of audit and accounting for financial organizations. Since 1998, he has led the relevant department at Grant Thornton Armenia, concurrently serving as the Chief Financial Officer and since 2020 he is the CEO of Grant Thornton CJSC. Mr. Hovhannisyan is a member of the Chamber of Auditors and Expert Accountants of the Republic of Armenia.
